Helping Hands of Goose Creek is a local food pantry governed by a Board of Directors made up of members from supporting churches and other organizations. HHGC is a Trident United Way Funded Partner and works in close cooperation with the Goose Creek Clergy Association to serve the spiritual and temporal needs of the residents of South Berkeley County, SC. Staff: Michelle Maynard - Executive Director Cheryl Heisler - Senior Citizens' Program Coordinator/Client Assessment Specialist Bob McCall - Warehouse Supervisor History: HHGC opened a food pantry in 1989 to distribute emergency food to families in crisis situations. Our center (photo) has been in continuous operation since. Services have varied and numerous special assistance projects have been accomplished during our years of operation. Food distribution, however, remains the primary focus of the organization. HHGC has had the support of the community and the local Clergy Association and numerous volunteers since the beginning.

Helping Hands of Goose Creek is a recipient of a Google Grant award. The Google Grants program supports organizations sharing Google's philosophy of community service to help the world in areas such as science and technology, education, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy, and the arts.
